Look at the beautiful colors in this dragon, which is actually called Happy Birthday Jack, by Brazillian professional artist Ana Cláudia Marques, posting on deviantart as acla13.   She has a gallery full of more wonderful cartoon, comic, and fan art that you can check out as well — she’s particularly fond of Smurfs, by the look of it. 🙂

Ana created this piece for the birthday of a friend of hers, fellow deviantartist jshapeshifter, “inspired by his awesome creations,” and you can see his gallery here.

Since today is my own birthday — I’m “30-something” and will be for awhile now, I think! — I wanted to find a pretty dragon birthday piece to celebrate the occasion, and I think Ana’s work here fits the bill nicely.

As a gift to myself, I’m going to sit down for a few hours of uninterrupted writing time after work today, and I’ll hopefully be able to deliver the missing Neeka chapter from last week for you tonight, so stay tuned!
