Check out this awesome dragon display at the Pavilion Mall in Kuala Lumpur for the Chinese New Year in 2012, in a photo taken by fellow blogger Vincent Loy.  Even nine months into this blogging adventure, I’m still amazed at what I can find with a random Google search, and tonight is a perfect example!

I’ve been hanging out at my local mall tonight, hence the search, and by ‘local,’ of course I mean the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis and just a short light rail train ride away from my office.  It used to be the biggest mall in the United States, but now it’s just the second biggest, after the King of Prussia Mall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

I often stop by here after work, but this is a tourist destination for many folks in the Midwest and beyond, and before I lived here in Minnesota, I was no exception.  I was a young teenager when my mother brought my sister and me out here on a mini vacation from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and it’s still on mom’s must-visit list every time she comes out to visit us.

But back to the photos.  This above is another view of the atrium of the Pavilion Mall in Kuala Lumpur, during their Chinese New Year celebration in 2012, when it became the Year of the Dragon.  Vincent Loy featured these photos that he took himself on his blog My Blog City back in January of that year, and he’s still blogging strong — in fact, he just celebrated his 3 millionth view in September 2016, having started in September 2008.  WOW!

Vincent doesn’t have any other dragon photos on his blog that I could find to share, but he does movie reviews, like this one of How to Train Your Dragon 2.  The Pavilion Mall itself, however, shared some pictures of their 2016 Chinese New Year’s celebration for the Year of the Monkey, and here is a photo with some dragon dancers:

And here’s one more in the same atrium where the dragon was displayed in 2012, this time with this year’s monkey and some drummers.

But now it’s time for me to leave the mall.  As luck would have it, tonight I stopped for dinner and a drink while I worked on this post at the Buffalo Wild Wings on the third floor of the MOA, and my bartender is a WordPress blogger himself, go figure!  I guess people all over the world are doing this crazy blog thing.  After nine months, I have a small but awesome audience and just over 6,500 views, but who knows — maybe someday I’ll hit 3 million myself!

Thanks for reading everyone, take care and stay creative!
