AtoZ 2018 – T is for Tropical Dragon by MissPoe

It’s April, but it’s still winter-like here in Minnesota, so I’m loving this next entry in the April AtoZ Challenge 2018.  This is Tropical dragon by Swedish deviantartist Josefine, posting as MissPoe.

She has been away on hiatus the past two years, but just a few days ago posted that she’s back to painting daily, so that’s great!  A bit of her bio, and her caption to this piece:

… I’m living in north Sweden on the countryside. I’ve been drawing my entire life and I’m constantly trying to get better and developing different styles. … During fall and winter I’m doing lots of theatre, both writing and acting. It’s only a hobby as well as a way to keep my village alive. But most of the days I draw, paint, play games or write.

It’s probably my best dragon-design so far. There’s not much to say about it actually. I wanted to play with colours and practise my dragon-skills, that’s all.

I don’t know what she means by “that’s, all,” I think this is gorgeous and she’s got mad dragon-skills!  Josefine mentions that she was inspired by fellow artist BrokenDragon123‘s image of Dragon Wings to create this dragon.  (Also, I love the stained glass look — check out my recent post featuring stained glass dragons for more!)

You can find more of Josefine’s work, including the companion pieces to this one called Ice Dragon and Fire Dragon (both with the same stained glass wings) in her gallery.

I’m keeping it simple this year with my theme of “Odds and Ends Dragons” — amazing artwork by artists I’ve come across in past searches, but wasn’t able to find a spot for at the time.  Read more at my Theme Post.

All of these AtoZ posts should appear around 9:05 AM CT (-5 GMT) each day Monday through Saturday.  For even more dragons, check out my 2016 and 2017 posts!

Thanks for reading, take care, and stay creative!
